Terms of Service

Version 1.0 · Effective February 24, 2026

Operator: Cartful Solutions, Inc. ("Cartful," "we," "us")
Service: SkillShelf (the "Site")

1. What SkillShelf is

SkillShelf is a public website and open-source registry for AI "skills" (SKILL.md files) and related metadata (categories, tags, descriptions). The Site may show information like certification status and other community signals.

SkillShelf is currently free to use.

2. Accepting these Terms

By using the Site, or submitting content through the Site, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the Site or submit content.

3. Eligibility

SkillShelf is not intended for children under 13. By using the Site or submitting content, you confirm you are at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you should have permission from a parent or guardian.

4. No accounts

SkillShelf does not require user accounts.

5. Submitting skills

5.1 What happens when you submit

When you submit a skill through the Site, we may:

  • store the files and metadata you provide (including your author name and any optional URL)
  • run automated checks (formatting, security scans, spam filters)
  • open a pull request (PR) in the SkillShelf GitHub repository so maintainers can review your submission

Because the repository is public, your submission may be visible to the public once the PR is opened.

5.2 Your promises (including licensing)

When you submit content, you confirm that:

  • you have the rights needed to submit it for open-source publication
  • if your submission is accepted and merged, you agree it will be published and distributed under the Apache License 2.0
  • it does not include confidential information (yours or anyone else's)
  • it does not include personal data about other people
  • it does not contain malware, exploits, or anything intended to harm users or systems

5.3 Review and moderation

We can accept, reject, request changes to, or remove submissions at any time for any reason, including if we believe a submission:

  • violates these Terms
  • infringes someone's rights
  • includes confidential information or personal data
  • is unsafe, deceptive, or harmful
  • is spam or low quality
  • does not meet formatting or registry guidelines

We may edit or normalize metadata (like titles, categories, tags, and descriptions) to keep the registry consistent.

6. Open-source licensing (Apache 2.0)

SkillShelf's repository is licensed under the Apache License 2.0.

If your submission is accepted and merged into the repository, it will be published and distributed under Apache 2.0. Nothing in these Terms changes the Apache 2.0 license for content that is merged into the repository.

7. Using skills responsibly

Skills are prompt workflows intended to be used with AI systems. They can produce incorrect, incomplete, offensive, or harmful outputs. They may generate content that is not compliant with laws, platform rules, or brand guidelines.

You are responsible for reviewing outputs before using them in production and for complying with applicable laws and regulations.

8. Certification and community signals

If SkillShelf labels a skill as "certified" or similar, that means it passed whatever review process we describe at the time. It is not a guarantee that a skill is error-free, safe, complete, or fit for your particular use case.

Ratings and community signals (if added) are opinions and may be inaccurate.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Site to break the law or violate others' rights
  • attempt to disrupt the Site or bypass reasonable technical limits
  • upload malicious code or harmful content
  • misrepresent SkillShelf's endorsements or your relationship with Cartful

10. Third-party services and links (including GitHub)

The Site may link to third-party services (for example, GitHub). We are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. GitHub PRs and repository content are governed by GitHub's terms and policies.

11. Copyright complaints and takedowns

If you believe content on the Site or in the SkillShelf repository infringes your copyright, please contact us with:

  • your name and contact information
  • a link to the material you believe is infringing
  • a description of the copyrighted work you believe is being infringed
  • a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized
  • a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner
  • your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is fine)

12. Disclaimer

The Site and all content (including skills, descriptions, certifications, and community signals) are provided "as is" and "as available." We do not make warranties of any kind, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, non-infringement, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Cartful will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill.
